A Ladder We Built

Alien Brain Wave was a post-rock band from Knoxville, TN consisting of members Case Pharr (lead vocals, guitar), Daniel Zetterberg (guitar), Aslan Gossett (bass), Spencer Wood (saxophone), Trey Clark (drums), and Sam Liske (synthesizer). The band took great inspiration from overseas contemporaries like Black Country, New Road and Black Midi as well as their sister band What's on TV. They frequently played shows at Pilot Light which is a non-profit venue for experimental music. They recorded their first and only album in the summer of 2023 after the majority of the members graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The record's final track, Trees Walk, released as a single on Christmas of 2023 and the album, A Ladder We Built, released on New Years Eve of 2023. The band's final show was played on July 12th, 2023. Spencer Wood recently joined another local band Way Below and has been performing new material at Pilot Light. Sam Liske releases electronic and synthpop music under the alias Figmentarium Animation.
